Quick update on life here.
Winter has arrived in Madison!! The streets are packed with snow, kids are building forts and having fights, people are ice fishing on the lake (still not frozen all the way across - eek), people are nordic skiing!
Snow fall in madison hit 17 inches... and since it warmed up to a shocking 34 degrees this weekend the snow on the roof started to melt... and since the landlords never really did fix the roof that was being eaten, bit by bit by a pack of friendly squirrels who were trying to build a nest in the roof before the winter, a giant GIANT icicle... no you cannot call this avalanche of ice and icicle... it is more like a tree of ice coming off of our roof through a broken gutter system... pulling the roof almost off (well not really but close)... So the landlord came today with an ice pick, and tried to rescue the roof and our beautiful little porch (until the next snow fall).
Lynn got a raise, took the LSAT, got a bus pass (hung the bike up for the winter), started applications, finished his personal statement, continues to make me coffee every morning :)
We tried to weatherize our doors for the cold cold cold long long winter, but it was -5 degrees F so the sticky parts of the weather strips didnt stick. Out came the hair dryer to warm up the wood door- success! Then the door would not shut... off came the strip. ugh. but at least the neighbors had a good laugh at us.
Adam got engaged to Kelly!!! YEA!! I get two sisters this year!!! Celeste and Kelly!
I got a bonus (along with the other PA's for working my butt off when cardiology was functioning on 60% of the staff), started the long process of bringing a farmers market to the VA, talked more about yoga at the va in the new year! found a photographer, found a band, found out the band was too much money, found a DJ, found a florist, found some options for veils, found some options for bridesmaid dresses... got HOTELS RESERVED!
Mr. Yim has found a new perch on top of the TV, got his nails clipped, stopped biting so much, slept on out bed all night long, went to GB for a few weekends, met Missy, might get a new baby brother kitty (after Christmas??)
Life is good.
We have all we could possibly want.
We are so thankful, so grateful, we are filled with hope and joy.
Merry Christmas everybody!!
